Places To Fish In Lafayette

You may be planning for that perfect fishing spot in the Lafayette area. Here are some great local places to fish with family and friends in the Greater Lafayette area. Be sure to check to make sure the parks are open and adhere to all park and state regulations. Before you fish make sure you have the proper license. Here is a link to the DNR website to make sure you have everything you need.

Munger Park

Located off Greenbush Street, Munger Park hosts a pond with a paved trail going around part of the pond.

Shamrock Park

Shamrock Park is located along the Wabash River and offers a free access boat ramp to the Wabash river.

Armstrong Park

Armstrong Park is located on Lafayette’s Southside. A large pond available to fish, also a playground is available.

McAllister Park

Fishing is permitted here along the Wabash River at McAllister Park.

Columbian Park

A large pond is available to fish at Columbian Park located on Scott Street. Ample parking available.

Fairfield Lakes

Located on 200 South and 750 East near Dayton Fairfield Lakes hosts four lakes. The South end of the park offers access to Wildcat Creek. Fish for bluegill, bass, crappie and catfish.

Fort Ouiatenon

Fort Ouiatenon is a historical site that offers a boat launch for access to the Wabash River. This park is located on South River Road.

Bicentennial Nature Area

Bicentennial Nature Area is located between Duncan Road and Schuyler Avenue. Bicentennial Nature Area hosts a 70 acre pond with limited bank fishing and electric trolling motors on the pond.

Faith Community Park

Located at Faith East, fish in the stocked pond on the property.

Prophetstown State Park

Fish the lake at Prophetstown State Park located in Battle Ground.

Ross Hills Park

Ross Hills Park is located in West Lafayette and offers catch and release fishing.

Wildcat Creek Park

Wildcat Creek Park is located off of Eisenhower Road where the North and South forks meet. The park offers river bank access and well as boat access. Get ready for a bit of a walk to find a safe fishing spot.
